He’s a scientist, but he’s a pirate…
From an early age, the Science Pirate has been a performer and entertainer at heart. Establishing his roots in the art of magic, Michael was performing professionally at age 12 and continued that endeavor into his late teens. After beginning a new career at only 17 years old, he pursued his passion for production in the world of radio. It was during this time that he met his wife, Georgia. Together they have two sons and have been married for more than two decades! While working as a DJ, Michael honed his skills in editing and production before transitioning to website design and development. Although he enjoyed helping create the internet, he stepped away from that pursuit after a decade and returned to school. After obtaining his B.S. in Chemistry Education (with a Physics minor) he began teaching high school science. He continued his education and earned his Master’s degree in Chemistry Education in 2018 and eventually became the Anime Club sponsor, Bowling coach and Scholar Bowl coach. While he enjoyed working with the students, the bureaucracy of public education  clashed with the ideology of a pirate and he turned to analytical testing. While he has been working in a chemistry lab for the past 6+ years he has maintained a passion for publishing content to YouTube. Although some life events got in the way for a couple years, the Science Pirate is back and better than ever!
Earning his Master’s degree in Chemistry in 2016, the Science Pirate is actively working in a contract laboratory which tests materials and products for safety and standards of quality. He previously taught Physics and Chemistry courses at the high school level, and even taught a video editing class and was the anime club sponsor and bowling coach!
Always seeking to find the treasures of the world be it in knowledge or beauty, this Pirate is always willing to get some booty! Take what you can, give nothing back. No regrets. Gain as much knowledge as possible. It may be the only thing that can’t be taken from you. Your wealth is measured in more than the pile of gold coins you’ve amassed. Use your smarts and skills to their fullest!
